Now more than ever, fuel efficiency has become increasingly important. As gas prices continue to increase across the country, we want to make sure your vehicle is not using more gas than it did in the past. At Guzman Automotive we want to help you examine your driving behavior and vehicle maintenance to help you find ways to save money at the fuel pump. Always remember, a well-maintained car is a fuel-efficient car.

Fuel System Maintenance & Service

  1. Follow your vehicle’s manufacturer’s recommended service schedule. Our ASE Certified Technicians will gladly complete a complimentary courtesy inspection when you stop in. We’ll check your car’s service schedule and our friendly service staff will never recommend work that is unnecessary. We endeavor to partner with you to create a timeline and prioritize all of your vehicle’s service and repair needs.

  2. A complete fuel system cleaning should be performed on your vehicle every 15,000 miles, or whenever the manufacturer dictates. Our auto repair specialists thoroughly check the fuel injectors and the air intake to make sure there are no obstructions and everything is clean. This could have a huge impact on your vehicle’s performance and fuel efficiency. Having your fuel system cleaned can even start saving you some money at the gas station!

  3. Change your filters. As we drive, dirt and particles are kicked up off the road, where they become airborne and come into contact with our vehicles. Once they work their way into the car, they can be very damaging. That’s why the fuel system has filters around the fuel tank in order to keep contaminants out. When dirt and debris get into the system, they dirty the fuel, clog the injectors and even clog the air intake. This is how cars become less efficient. So, be sure to get those filters routinely replaced!
